Adding Text And Images
Add text, headings, or titles
Open a Sites page you are working on.
On the right sidebar, click the "Insert" menu. (Image 1)
There are three headings in the right sidebar. "Insert" is one of them.
Click on the "Text box" icon - the two blue T's at the top of the Insert menu. (Image 2)
In the menu that opens, choose the text, heading, or title style you want. (Image 3)
Add your text to the box.
To publish your changes, at the top right, click Publish.
Change how text looks
You can change the styles of the text after you enter it.
Click /highlight the text you want to change.
In the menu that opens, choose the text styles you want (bold, italics, underline, font color, etc.)
To publish your changes, at the top right, click Publish.
Format the text
You can change how your text looks, add numbered or bulleted lists, insert links, change the spacing between lines, and more.
On the right sidebar, click "Pages." Then, choose the page you want to edit.
Highlight the text, or click where you want to insert text, a list, or link.
When you highlight text, a menu opens so you can edit the text.
Choose how you want to format your text.
To publish your changes, at the top right, click Publish.
Add collapsible text
You can use the collapsible text feature on a site. It allows you to save space on a page.
Visitors to your site can expand/collapse a section of text to view what is under the topic.
On the "Insert" menu, click Insert "Collapsible Group."
A box will open with two rows.
The top row is for the heading of the collapsible group.
The second row is for any information you want to add (body text box).
To add heading text, click the heading section. Click where it says, "Click to edit text." (Image 4)
To add text to the body, click the second box, in the bottom row, and add content. C
As you type, the box will expand
To publish your changes, at the top right, click Publish.
Edit collapsible text
After you've added a collapsible group and you want to make changes, click on the collapsible text group heading. This will expand the collapsible text. (Image 4)
To edit the heading label for the group, click on the heading section to edit the heading.
To edit the content under the heading, click on the body (text box); make changes.
To publish your changes, at the top right, click Publish.
Delete collapsible text
To select the text box group, hover your mouse over the text box. A blue outline appears around the text box. Point to the top of the collapsible text box and click the blue outline.
The word, "collapsible" and a trash can icon appears (Image 4)
Click the icon of the trash can to delete the collapsible group.
Turn collapsible text off
You can turn collapsible text into regular header and body text.
Click the collapsible text box to expand it.
To select the text box group, hover your mouse over the text box, point to the top of the collapsible text box, and click the blue outline.
Turn off "Collapsible."
To turn header and body text boxes back into collapsible text:
Select the text box group, point to the top of the header text box, and click the blue outline.
Turn on "Collapsible."
Add an image
Use the "Insert Menu" on the right sidebar.
Click the "Images" icon (red icon at the top on the Insert column).
From the available choices, choose where to get your image.
your hard drive (upload from your computer or device)
your Google Drive
Google Photos
Google Images
You can also search the Web for images and link to them. Keep in mind that images you choose from the WEB:
can be removed at any time by their owners; they might be missing later on when visitors to your site click on them
should be copyright compliant if you use them; look for copyright free images. I have TWO entire page dedicated to finding free and copyright compliant images on the web, and another for writing citations. The pages are ca;lled:
Choose an image and click "Open" or "Select."
To publish your changes, at the top right, click "Publish."
Resize a photo
Click the photo you want to resize.
A blue box will outline the image. There are dots on the outline.
Click a dot and adjust the photo to the size you want. (Image 5)
You can also use the small square in the menu above the image to resize the photo. Click the small square (second from the left) and see how the image changes.
Crop a photo
Click the photo you want to edit, and click the crop icon (in the top left of the menu that appears)
Above the photo, use the slider to adjust the size. (Image 6)
Move the photo within the frame.
Click Done
To cancel your changes, at the top, click Undo.
