The ground is covered with white now but I am not sure I am ready for this mentally. Physically our little farm has been put to bed for the winter......hives wrapped, squash and pumpkin season over with, puppies and mothers warm and cozy in the barn. Chukha's 7 puppies have been weaned off and love the freedom of being without their mother. Crazy but it's true. Chukha is a strict disciplinarian and was getting short with her puppies. Now that she has moved out they can play and wrestle together, yip and bark, and develop their own personalities. Our USDA inspector stopped by last week. We received a zero non-compliant rating again. I have nothing done for the holidays yet. The tree is standing in the stand without any decorations. Bug came over yesterday for most of the day so he could help me decorate it but we kind of never got around to it. He preferred to play games and do some crafts so that is what we did. Today I need to make a trip to Osage so hope to do a little shopping while there. My pledge this year is to do as much holiday shopping as possible at our small town stores. It's amazing the unique and cool gifts to be found without entering the big box stores. AND many also gift wrap, a service which I absolutely love.
