Well isn't this winter a doozy! Yesterday morning we started out with a forecast for 2 - 4 inches, then changed to 3 - 6 inches, then 6 - 8 and by this morning I'm sure we have 12 inches. It sure makes doing chores so much more difficult. Doug is running out of places to pile the snow. We have had to add extensions to the fence around the exercise yard because the drifts are higher than the fence in some places. So what to do while we wait for spring? Tax work is done, seeds ordered, bees ordered. Five out of 6 hives were alive the last slightly warm break we had in the weather. I just don't know if they can make it till actual spring arrives. I'm in a spring cleaning mood so am purging the house of stuff that just needs to be gone. I have paint purchased to give our office a sprucing up. Currently the room has a wallpaper border around the top which needed to be removed first. After trying DIF, vinegar/hot water, fabric softener/hot water, and a steamer. I gave up and called the local professional painter. He said it may never come off and it is possible to paint over the border. First I needed to paint over it with a primer so the pattern doesn't bleed through. Now it's ready for painting. Have some samples for blinds ordered. I'm rambling but I never get to home improvement projects so I'm excited to have the time to brighten things up around here.

I spent 8 days in January taking care of the Badgers (the grandboys) while parents were vacationing in sunny climes. Such an enjoyable time. One morning I was getting them buckled in the car to go somewhere, the boots, the snowpants, bookbag etc. I said, " Being a mom is really hard work." Bug answers with "Haven't you ever had a kid before, grandma?" When I said "Yes, of course, I had two boys." He wondered "Who?" "Well, your dad and your Uncle Carl." He was totally unaware that I was his dad's mom.

And the puppies, we currently have two litters of huskies (Chukha and Rita) and one litter of 8 bassets from Lola. Sure could use a few more litters of basset puppies for those people patiently waiting.
