Last year's honey is now bottled. The cucumbers, zuchhini, and yellow squash are done and the ground disked up. Raspberries are in season but we are disappointed in the crop. Raspberries like plenty of water but maybe not this much. Many are crumbly are not the quality we like to sell. I think I will make lots of jam with most of what we get. Found a recipe for raspberry pie filling so will try canning that. What a treat that will be come winter.
Bug and I found one small kitten hiding around the chicken coop.
We don't have cats of our own but it's not unusual for a cat to wander thru and have kittens in one of our sheds. It is unusual to have just one lone kitten show up. Poor little thing was so hungry so we moved it into the barn and got him all fed and watered. Doug named him/her Milo and she thinks she rules the place already. Milo is a really pretty little calico.
All of Flo's puppies have new homes. We have one male puppy of Hannah's that is not spoken for. Her puppies just turned 7 weeks a few days ago. Later this fall we should be having another litter of bassets and hopefully two litters of Huskies. Haven't had any huskies since February, I think it was.
Upcoming projects: write a fall newsletter for our fall vegetable customers, harvest this years honey crop, prepare for harvest. (I got a new extractor as a wedding anniversary gift from Doug. It's what I really needed. Really.)
