Farm Happenings

I haven't made an entry into Farm Happenings since August 2020 which is when the Google website format changed. I couldn't figure out how to make entries anymore. So here we are in April of 2022. We are having a very cold and windy spring. Therefore, we haven't got many spring projects. Spring will all happen at once and we will be very busy. Earlier this winter we had a little of basset puppies that really struggle once they hit 5 weeks old. We made a little pen in the house for them so we could feed them multiple times a day. They were very picky what they would eat so I felt like a short order cook. They were a spoiled bunch by the time they left and even knew that when the microwave started that I better be warming food for them. Now we have a litter of 8 basset puppies that are 5 weeks old and they are fat and chubby as they should be. At the end of April we hope to have two litters of basset puppies. Petra is definitely pregnant, but the verdict about Charlotte is still out.
May 9, 2023 I'm just taking a few minutes to right an update after over a year. Spring is always very busy. We had a nice shower of rain last night which is definitely needed. We are busy with two litter of basset puppies. Those puppies will be leaving within the next two weeks. We have two beautiful husky females also ready for their new homes. Friday we go to Utica, Minnesota to pick up five honeybee nucs that will need to be hived. We had one hive surprisingly survive the winter. We are trying to get as much done this week so next week is when we will start putting seeds in the ground.
