Last Thursday we got a much needed inch of rainfall. Yesterday I planted onion plants, garlic, and another row of radish in our garden. I picked 20# of asparagus for delivery to the garden center I sell to. I got the call from B & B Honey Farm in Houston, Minnesota that the honeybees will be arriving this week and I had my choice of evenings to go pick up the two singles that I had ordered. The two hives that I have both came through the winter surprisingly but I ordered two more to have enough hives for pollination of our pumpkin and squash crop. A single is like a mini-hive which contains 8 - 9 frames with drawn comb and a minimum of 6 frames of bees. Singles can't be shipped so we must pick them up.

I'm still getting orders for chickens and suddenly realized that I hadn't placed my order for the baby chickens from the hatchery. Usually I have that done at this time. A quick call and now have two delivery dates scheduled, two weeks apart. I ordered 600 total this year which is 50 more than last year. I may have to boost that number up a little bit if I get any more calls for orders. I am reaching capacity of the building we use though.

Tomorrow I need to get some photos taken of the basset puppies we have that are almost ready to go. Amazing how quickly they grow. I need to get the pictures posted on the website.
