Haven't written all winter and today it feels like spring has arrived already. I'll take a winter like this every year. It's been quiet here. The barn has been empty for weeks. Things will start to break loose soon. If this warm spell continues we can get right into spring projects. Today I plan on pruning the apple trees. If it stays warm enough, we can start working at repairing and repainting bee equipment. I am SO excited. I'll know today for sure but I believe all four of my colonies made it through the winter. Yesterday I scheduled an appointment for a C-section for Frances the Basset on Tuesday, March 13. That is her due date. I just hope she doesn't decide to go early. We think Edith is pregnant also but she doesn't have large litters so it's not so easy to tell. Last time she only had three puppies. If she is pregnant, her due date is March 27. Also Ada the Husky was bred and her due date is March 27 as well. Difficult to tell if she is actually pregnant too due to her heavy winter coat. I felt her tummy and think she is but still can't be sure. Time to get out and enjoy this gorgeous day!
