Winter has come and gone since my last post back in November. December 5 my dad passed away at the age of 98. He decided to leave quickly because his sweetie was waiting for him in Heaven. My mother, his sweetie, passed away in July and when she left his reason for being left with her. They would have been married 75 years in October. We miss them every day in so many ways. So winter was a blur and now spring is here and we are in the midst of a pandemic. We live on an acreage in the country because there is no better place to be. Now more than ever, it's the safest place. Consequently, our live hasn't changed a whole lot. We have plenty of outdoor work to take care of....yard work, tree pruning, garden preparation. It won't be long and our baby chicks will arrive. Sage should be having a litter of basset puppies on April 30. We just aren't able to go out to our favorite restaurants but on the other hand we have plenty of beef and chicken in our freezer and canned goods on the shelf. Doug planted two apple trees last week and decided he would like two pear trees also. I finished pruning our other fruit trees yesterday. Recently I made raspberry jam from berries I had put in the freezer last fall. What a wonderful fragrance! A look at the forecast shows high of 75 degrees for tomorrow. Welcome Spring!
