Retractable Upgrades have their own set of rules that do not apply for any other type of upgrades.
All retractable upgrade applications require a before and after comparison. The "before" shows the upgrades unretracted, and the "after" shows them hidden/retracted. No need for multiple steps.
Before and After must use the same base lineart/pose (lineart can be adjusted but you cannot use two completely different poses).
Only the before and after comparison can be displayed on the deviation.
You may not add other upgrades (tail, ears, etc.) to the "after". They must be added at the beginning or as an extra "step" at the end.
When multiple retractables are applied, they do not need to retract at the same time (i.e you can hide the back wings without needing to hide butt wings as well).
Retractables do not affect the kel's colours, including colour upgrades like Coloured Teeth, Coloured Tongue, etc.
Must have unlocked the upgrade(s) being retracted
Cannot retract oopgrades.
You get to decide the "triggers" for what makes your kels upgrades show/retract.

Rules
-Cannot retract the basic anatomy: Eyes, gem, whiskers, mouth, 1 pair of arms, legs (if applicable), 1 pair of ears* or 1 tail*
-For ears and tail, you can fully retract those if your kel has No Ears and/or No Tail applied.
-Inherited traits from subspecies (pits/whiskers) are considered basic anatomy and thus cannot be retracted.
-You may not retract eye upgrades
-You MAY retract markings/marking textures
-Can be applied to everything you want to retract at once (as in you can retract Hair + Extra Arms in one application but must reapply to add/subtract)
