How to grow up?
Growing your kel into an adult is very similar to the aging from a keling to akeling.
Here are a few rules that apply to all types of growing up!
1. Your kel must have 5 different deviations of them in the current age they are. Applications do not count!
2. Your kel must be of the minimum age required for the right growing up.
3. You cannot skip a stage (baby straight to adult), even if they are past the minimum adult grow up age.
4. You cannot add upgrades on growing up approvals. Do it before or after.
5. Do not depict accessories/clothes on aging applications.
6. You must use the right template.
7. Do not edit the approvals unless asked by a moderator.
7. When filling out your template, both reiterations of the character must face the same way and be posed in a way that doesn't hide markings (think boring, just standing there poses).
8. You cannot change the gem shape or colours/placements of your kel during the growing up approvals.
You can find the templates here, along with examples of filled out templates (click to access the sta.sh):
Finally ready to step into adulthood and do cool things like paying taxes? No? Too bad!
Just like how teens can still access baby upgrades, adults can access teen AND baby upgrades in addition to all the new adult ones!
In order to grow up into an adult, your akeling must be at least 2 months old.
How do we calculate that month? Well, if your keling is born on May 9th, they will need to wait until July 9th!
However, before growing up, you have a choice to make! Don't worry, you can always change your mind with an upgrade later!
Similar to how akelings have to choose between bipedal and quadrupedal, adults get to choose special morphs of these stances! Each base stance has two morphs!
Each morph has its own unique characteristics that may help you decide which to go for!
Feral - Ferals are the peak of physical strength. They have the most natural muscle of all morphs and are thus well-suited to labour-intensive jobs/hobbies.
Noodle - Due to their longer proportions, noodles aren't as graceful as others when it comes to things like running. Their flowing, aerodynamic bodies are perfect for flight and swimming, though.
Anthro - Anthros have the most natural dexterity of all the morphs. They often take up jobs and hobbies that require very fine motor skills.
Raptor - Raptors are very naturally fast and agile. They're also quite good at jumping. Many raptors take up some sort of activity with lots of movement or exploration.
Adults get access to two morphs per stance! Bipeds get anthro and raptor while quadrupeds get feral and noodle. Adults also completely lose their baby spots, they should have no near-white mark on their nose or tail!
Now, onto a breakdown of their anatomy!
Ferals are very similar to the teen quad stance, just a bit less awkward and a bit more muscular.
1 - Their legs are at full length now.
2 - Feral shoulders are even bulkier than quad teen shoulders.
3 - While all of the feral build is strong, they have a lot up muscle specifically in their forelimbs.
Noodles are noticeably longer than the base teen quad.
1 - The neck and torso of noodles is elongated, tho they are not much taller than ferals.
2 - By comparison their legs look stubbier and are not as muscular as ferals.
3 - Noodle necks and bodies are flexible enough to wrap around a friend for the ultimate hug.
Compared to teen bipeds, anthros are taller and look a little less awkward!
1 - They remain digitigrade, meaning they stand on their toes. Their legs are noticeably longer, though.
2 - Their arms are a bit more proportional to the rest of their bodies.
3 - They generally have bigger feet than hands but this is optional!
Raptors look a little different from the teen biped stance and are almost a mix of quadruped and biped.
1 - Raptors have slanted backs and don't stand fully upright.
2 - Their arms are a bit small, especially when compared to their thicker, more muscular hind legs.
3 - The resting position of raptor arms has a slight bend to it, unlike anthros whose arms rest completely straight.
Now that you have picked which morph you want, you can start filling your form!
Here's a few things to keep in mind when filling them:
1. Use the right form (while both biped morphs share a form, ferals and noodles have their own. All can be found in this sta.sh link).
2. Both baby spots have faded!
3. Both drawings have to face the same way! Makes it easy to check the placements.
4. Both drawings have to be boring poses of fullbodies. Try to keep all their feet on the ground and not have limbs covering anything.
5. You cannot apply upgrades during the growing-up approval!
Here are examples of good and badly filled templates!
In the description of your application, you need to fill in this form!
ID:
Name:
Birthdate: Write out the date AND link to keling approval
Teen Approval: <link>
Base Gem Shape:
Stance: Base - Morph (example: Biped - Raptor)
Upgrades: <Link to upgrade applications>
Link to 5 deviations: <link1> <link2> ...
Once you have filled your application, you can then upload it to DeviantArt! Then, you can head on discord and fill the form found in #adult-approval channel.
Once you have submitted your approval there, a moderator will get to it as fast as possible. They will create a thread, letting you know if anything needs to be changed, added or if it has been declined for one reason or another.
Once your kel's adult growing up approval has been accepted, they are now officially an adult!
Now that your kel is as old as they can get, a few things have opened up to them!
Adults gain access to a lot of cool upgrades. Adults also have the ability to breed!
