How to grow up?
Growing your kel into an adult is very similar to the aging from a keling to akeling.
Here are a few rules that apply to all types of growing up!
1. Your kel must have 5 different deviations of them in the current age they are. Applications do not count!
2. Your kel must be of the minimum age required for the right growing up.
3. You cannot skip a stage (baby straight to adult), even if they are past the minimum adult grow up age.
4. You cannot add upgrades on growing up approvals. Do it before or after.
5. You must use the right template.
6. Do not edit the approvals unless asked by a moderator.
7. When filling out your template, both reiterations of the character must face the same way and be posed in a way that doesn't hide markings (think boring, just standing there poses).
8. You cannot change the gem shape or colours/placements of your kel during the growing up approvals.
You can find the templates here, along with examples of filled out templates (click to access the sta.sh):
Finally ready to step into adulthood and do cool things like paying taxes? No? Too bad!
Just like how teens can still access baby upgrades, adults can access teen AND baby upgrades in addition to all the new adult ones!
In order to grow up into an adult, your akeling must be at least 2 months old.
How do we calculate that month? Well, if your keling is born on May 9th, they will need to wait until July 9th!
However, before growing up, you have a choice to make! Don't worry, you can always change your mind with an upgrade later!
Like all adults, fae have unique morphs! They, however, have five total to consider!
Each morph has its own unique characteristics that may help you decide which to go for! NOTE: Elemental affinities paired with morphs are completely optional and NOT a mechanic! Any element of fae can be any morph, it is only added as lore flavour.
Sluagh - The tallest of the fae morphs. They tend to be a bit thin with very long arms and legs. Many have big hands but it isn't necessary! Sluaghs are good with long distance magics, like Ice and Water.
Boggart - The chonkiest of the fae morphs, boggarts are know for their large upper bodies and arms. They are easily the physically strongest morph and specialise in Light and Fire magic.
Elf - The middle ground of fae morphs, a good all-rounder. They don't have any particular elemental affinities.
Sprite - Sprites are on the smaller and physically weaker side, but are the fastest and most agile of the fae morphs. Their upper bodies and arms are small but they have stocky, strong legs. Sprites tend to specialise in Energy and Air magic.
Gnome - The shortest of all the fae morphs, gnomes are quite literally down to earth. They are extremely stable and surprisingly strong for their size. The gnome morphs works well with Dark and Earth magic.
While the fae morphs vary greatly in size and shape, there are a few things they have in common! Like all adults, they lack any baby spots! Something that is unique to fae is that they are all bipedal! On that note, they now fully stand on their toes.
Now, onto a breakdown of their anatomy!
Sluaghs are very tall and thin!
1 - Their legs and arms are very long.
2 - Their torsos are slightly thin and long.
3 - Sluagh arms can taper from hand to shoulder (as shown in example) or be uniform in size.
Boggarts aren't as tall as sluaghs but ARE taller than elves and standard anthros!
1 - The upper body and arms are big!
2 - Boggart arms are always chonky.
3 - Compared to other morphs, boggarts have smaller feet!
A less awkward version of the teen stance! Basically the fae anthro.
1 - They now stand on their toes properly, huzzah!
2 - All around balanced proportions.
3 - The middle ground of all fae morphs! Technically, they are slightly shorter than medusas and anthros!
Little guy with big legs and tiny paws!
1 - The torso and arms are pretty thin.
2 - Sprite upper legs/thighs are very big compared to the rest of their thinner physique.
3 - Sprite feet tend to be tinier but can be drawn normal sized!
Short kings, queens, and all in-betweens.
1 - Gnomes actually return to flatfooted feet! They are capable of stand a bit on their toes, though, as shown above.
2 - Gnome bodies are stocky, as are their arms and legs.
Now that you have picked which morph you want, you can start filling your form!
Here's a few things to keep in mind when filling them:
1. Use the right form (while both biped morphs share a form, ferals and noodles have their own. All can be found in this sta.sh link).
2. Both baby spots have faded!
3. Both drawings have to face the same way! Makes it easy to check the placements.
4. Both drawings have to be boring poses of fullbodies. Try to keep all their feet on the ground and not have limbs covering anything.
5. You cannot apply upgrades during the growing-up approval!
Here are examples of good and badly filled templates!
In the description of your application, you need to fill in this form!
ID:
Name:
Base Magic:
Birthdate: Write out the date AND link to keling approval
Teen Approval: <link>
Base Gem Shape:
Stance: Morph (example: Elf)
Upgrades: <Link to upgrade applications>
Link to 5 deviations: <link1> <link2> ...
Once you have filled your application, you can then upload it to DeviantArt! Then, you can head on discord and fill the form found in #grow-up-approval channel.
Once you have submitted your approval there, a moderator will get to it as fast as possible. They will create a thread, letting you know if anything needs to be changed, added or if it has been declined for one reason or another.
Once your kel's teen growing up approval has been accepted, they are now officially an adult!
Now that your kel is as old as they can get, a few things have opened up to them!
Adults gain access to a lot of cool upgrades. Adults also have the ability to breed!
Fully grown kels can breed with one another to make eggs! Find out more by following our guide!
(Note: Fae breeding isn't currently available!)
