As you all know, kels have a magic gem! This is how they get to channel their magic but, did you know that their whiskers were also useful in using magic?
A kel's whiskers allow them to feel the magic around them. It also helps them manage the flow of magic when using spells! That way, they do not discharge a massive amount of magic energy and go BOOM.
Losing a whisker or damaged whiskers will not manage the magic flow and will render the kel's magic unstable. If they are damaged in any way, it is recommended to fully amputate them. A kel without whiskers will have very low magical powers if any, but it is preferable to a kel with unstable magic.
All kels have a unique magic imprint (think like our fingerprints)! Some kels can learn to know who is using magic by how they feel the magic around themselves, using their whiskers! It is mostly seen in siblings, parent-child and spouses. You'd need to spend a lot of time with said kel when they are using magic to start knowing their imprint! It is often referred as your 'print' to keep it short!
Magic can be categorized into eight basic elements. These are air, dark, earth, energy, fire, ice, and light. There are legends of a mythical ninth element but those are just that: legends. Each element has a variety of uses and a variety of spells. Each element also has a unique colour associated with it, the magic and gem will glow this colour when being cast.
These eight elements are also grouped into 4 types. While it isn't fully known why these pairs exist, they can affect certain elemental affinities! It is far easier to know what type your kel is proficient in rather than a specific element! These types go as follows:
Vibrant type -> Air and Energy
Calm type -> Water and Ice
Bright type -> Fire and Light
Root type -> Earth and Dark
Below you will find links to each of the element pages. Each page has more info about its element, all the known spells associated with the element, and upgrades that require mastery of the element.
Every magic element has 2 difficulty tiers, basic and intermediate.
Basic spells are the introductory spells for each element and are easier to learn. A kel can start learning basic spells once they become a teen, as their magic has finally developed enough for it!
Intermediate spells are more difficult to learn and use and require experience with the element beforehand. Along with needing to know at least three (3) basic spells, your kel must be an adult before tackling on intermediate magic.
There are two primary ways for a kel to learn magic: independently and through tutoring.
Any kel teen and older can learn magic independently at any time! However, there are some limitations. It takes longer to learn without a guide, even if a kel is naturally gifted. However, there is also no limit on how long it can take.
Magic classes must be signed up for and must be completed within a certain amount of time. In exchange, however, it takes less time to learn! Class spaces are limited and only feature certain spells and elements at a time. However, we strive to have a variety of classes available as often as possible!
Once your kel has officially learned a spell, you'll be able to find their names on the magic masterlist!
Magic Images
Not any drawing can count towards learning magic. There are a few requirements:
-Your kel must be the focus point of the image. Can't just have them in the background using x spell.
-Must have clean lines (digital)/little to no sketch line visible (traditional)
-Must be coloured (palette challenges/greyscale counts as coloured)
-All Magic Images submission must be posted in the Magic Learning folder.
-Magic Images must be unique images for magic learning. It cannot be combined with bi-weekly prompts, event prompts, etc. They can be combined with breeding submissions.

Can my kel learn more than one spell or element at a time?
Yes! However, keep in mind that each spell must have its unique image per kel (For independent learning only: you can have two kels learning magic in the same drawing and it would count for both). Harder but not impossible!
Are we allowed to teach more than one kel at a time?
Yes!
Can my akeling(teen) learn intermediate magic?
No, teens are only allowed to learn basic magic, as their magic is still developing.
Can my akeli learn basic and intermediate spells at the same time?
Yes and no. Your kel must unlock the ability to learn intermediate spells beforehand. However, once unlocked, they can learn more basic spells alongside intermediate spells.
Do I have to follow a certain order for the spells when learning independently?
Nope! You can do them in the order you want!
Can we do collab pieces for magic images?
Yes! However, you cannot post a duplicate of the art for both members to earn akis. Also, if member A were to post an image of A's kel and B's kel learning together, it would only count towards A's kel learning, as you cannot learn magic for someone else's kel. Member B would need to post their own image for it to count for their kel.
Can I register my kel to both elements of a class?
No, kels can only register to one element per class.
