Magic Classes is a faster but harder method of learning magic. They are only held from time to time and have deadlines. They do, however, cut down the art requirement by half and offer a little bonus for passing the class!
Magic Classes will also offer set prompts for each spell, as well as have a minimum aki requirement for the prompt entries, and some other art requirements. Now, what does this aki requirement mean?
The aki requirement for magic classes is a new way of doing minimum requirements, where we hope to give the members more freedom on what they can draw! As long as the piece obtains that minimum of akis (and fulfills other requirements), the piece will count!
For example: This one class requires the piece to earn 5 akis and requires a complex background. You can match that requirement by doing a fullbody with the background, or by doing a partial, props and the background!
The minimum aki requirement will be calculated similarly to our other forms of requirements.
This requirement method is still in trial and is subject to change.
Elements available for classes
Pretty much all elements are available to be learned in classes! However, there is one exception and that is dark magic. Due to its side effects leading to feeling ill near Lumi trees, dark magic isn't being taught in classes. To learn dark magic, you'll need to go the independent route, no respectable teacher would subject their students to lifelong drawbacks.
Passing or failing the class
By successfully fulfilling every prompt and meeting all the requirements for your assignments, your kel will pass the class! Yay! When passing the class, they will automatically be added to the magic masterlist, as well as earn a little reward! Rewards can be found further down the page!
With magic classes, there is the possibility of your kel failing that class by not meeting deadlines or minimum requirements. But worry not, as there's still some good that can happen! The last week of every class will offer catch-up prompts for those who might have missed a deadline. These prompts will be different from the prompts used in the class, to avoid cheating.
If you still cannot finish all the prompts in time, then worry not as all assignments that have been officially approved will count towards the independent learning image requirements! So no progress is lost!
Class rewards
Every participating kel gets a reward for participating in classes, and a bonus one whenever they pass the class! That's right, every kel that participates in class (has at least one prompt done) and/or passes the class will get a reward! That reward is not obligatory to apply. The rewards are as follows:
For participating in class, your kel can apply an elemental stamp!
For passing the class, your kel can also apply a halo!
Note: The reward will be dependent on what class your kel joins!
Assignment prompts
For the duration of the class, Margaret will give new assignments every sunday. These assignments include a prompt, as well as some flavour text to add context to the prompt. Entries will have to follow the prompt and flavour text for it to count. Each student must have a unique entry for each prompt.
Prompts may also have specific detail requirements such as including classmates (must be from the same element unless specified otherwise), specific props, NPCs and more.
Magic Classes Restrictions and Exceptions
Magic Classes work differently to learning independently due to the presence of the tutor. Because of that, all kels participating in those classes only need to do one prompt per spell, no matter if they have a disadvantage or an advantage with that element! With one exception, being the following:
Fae kels can only learn spells from their magic type (same type as bound element). Thus they cannot enter for classes outside of that type.
