Sirens are only obtainable through breeding, adopts and events.
Siren akeli are a subspecies of the standard akeli. They have a very strong connection to the Water element; many sirens can master it with barely a sweat. This comes with a drawback, however, as they greatly struggle with anything Fire-related.
Sirens are about the same size as standard kels.
Naming Conventions:
Siren - A single siren kel
Sirens - Several sirens kels
School - A group of sirens
Aside from these specific terms, sirens use the same terms as standards! (keling, akeling, kel, etc)
Siren kelings differ quite a lot from your standard kelings!
Siren kelings lack back legs and will always have clawed hands!
Sirens have one wide 'reverse notch', followed by two smaller notches at the corners of the mouth!
Siren whiskers are long, droopy and fin-like!
Sirens naturally have finned ears, similar to axolotl gills!
Siren kelings start with one set of gills on their sides, which allows them to breathe underwater! These gills will close when out of the water.
Sirens have an upturned snout!
Sirens have pelvic fins, as well as a large triangle-shaped fin tail with a frilly tip!
Similar to all akeli, sirens have a gem on their forehead! Their gills will be the same colour as their gem!
While more comfortable in the water, siren kelings can also clumsily 'walk' on land! They will, however, require a LOT of hydration to not dry out (so best to stay in the water).
Sirens allow for a wider stylisation of their mouth and snout!
The curve in their snout can vary in severity!
The notches at the corners of their mouth can be much closer together!
All kels have a Magic Gem in between their eyes. This gem can be of any simple shape found below.
Note: Altering of the base shape form is allowed (i.e, stretching, squashing, rotating). Adding extra bumps is not allowed.
They can also be of any single colour except pure black or white.
NOTE: Siren gills are the same colour as their gem!
All kelings have two baby spots! These spots are found over their nose and at the tip of their tail. The colour can be found at the bottom of the colour palette on the applications.
These spots do fade as they age up! One will fade out as they reach their teen stage (akelings) and the other will fade as they reach their adult stage (akelis)!
They can also have 2 secondary colours on their body! These colours can be used for simple and generic colour placements. Here is a list of all placements allowed.
Sirens are only allowed up to three (3) accent placements!
Sirens work similarly to other kels when it comes to their applications, but they will have some slight differences! First of all, they have no feet to put on the 'ground'. Because of that, we ask that their pose be as BORING as possible, with the arms layed out in front of them so we can clearly see their OPENED gills. The application should not be shaded and should have a single colour for the lineart. Finally, there must be a front view of their gem shape alone.
Also, you must NEVER delete your application. NEVER edit the application without a mod asking for changes.
Fish shall be our example keling! To the left (above on mobile) is a perfectly filled out application!
They have a full profile view WITH a seperate view for their gem!
All baby spots are in place and properly coloured!
They used the proper base colour AND only 2 secondaries!
Their gills are gem coloured!
Little Fish has a total of 6 placements, with no overlapping different colours!
1. Arms (Underarms)
2. Body (Backstripe)
3. Face (Tear streak)
4. Head (Hood)
5. Neck (Throat)
6. Pelvic Fins (Tip)
And they only have 2 accent placements!
To the right (below on mobile), we have an application with errors!
Oh dearie, Fish, it seems you got a bit ahead of yourself...
It seems like Fish got a big ahead of themselves and have a big ol Smooth Mouth grin! You need your notches little guy!
Fish has dunked their whiskers into some paint as the placement is over half of their whisker!
Fish's ears are very wide at the base! They should be thin 'arms' with larger fins!
Fish's gills are the wrong shape! That would require Siren Gills Swapper for this shape!
Speaking of gills, it's accent coloured instead of being gem colours!
Fish's tail is super pretty, but isn't matching the base siren tail! And their side fins are *very* pointy and should be softer.
You silly Fish, we don't have a separate view of your gem! What shape is your gem?
There is nothing to worry about making mistakes in the applications. Moderators will be ready to help and provide redlines! (At your request)
Last thing now, your application description!
Once you're done designing and ready to submit your keling to DeviantArt, you must put this form in the description of your new baby!
