Nagas are only obtainable through breeding, adopts and events.
Naga akeli are a subspecies of the standard akeli. They have a very strong connection to the Earth element, many nagas can master it with barely a sweat. This comes with a drawback, however, as they greatly struggle with anything Air related.
Nagas are about the same size as standard kels, albeit a bit longer.
Naming Conventions:
Naga - A single naga kel
Nagas - Several naga kels
Slither - A group of nagas
Aside from these specific terms, nagas use the same terms as standards! (keling, akeling, kel, etc)
Nagas have some unique anatomy, so please read everything carefully!
Nagas do not have any hind legs! They do have arms, though, which can be paws OR claws. (You can Mix n Match them later for a paw and a claw!)
Nagas have a "w" mouth! Think of it almost like an inverted standard kel mouth. They also have slightly stubbier snoots!
Nagas have very thin forked tongues, similar to snakes (still regular flesh coloured). Nagas also have thin, small fangs that are normally unseen!
Nagas completely lack magic whiskers! Instead, they have 2-3 magical pits on each side of their snout. The pits are the same colour as the gem and glow when using magic!
Nagas have special ears that resemble a cobra hood! This hood can be upright or lay flat on the neck (and it can change position depending on emotion!)
Nagas start with simple, rounded belly scales. The scutes can point upward or downward. They are the accent colour OR one of the used secondary colours
Similar to all akeli, nagas have a gem on their forehead! Their pits will be the same colour as their gem!
Nagas aren't known for their speed or agility but they are renowned for their feats of physical strength and endurance. Nagas are some of the heartiest kels out there and can survive harsh climates!
Due to Nagas having no back legs, the "butt" area or where the body stops and the tail starts can be hard to place! Here's a guide for all those lower-body upgrade placements!
All kels have a Magic Gem in between their eyes. This gem can be of any simple shape found below.
Note: Altering of the base shape form is allowed (i.e, stretching, squashing, rotating). Adding extra bumps is not allowed.
They can also be of any single colour except pure black or white.
NOTE: Naga pits are the same colour as their gem!
All kelings have two baby spots! These spots are found over their nose and at the tip of their tail. The colour can be found at the bottom of the colour palette on the applications.
These spots do fade as they age up! One will fade out as they reach their teen stage (akelings) and the other will fade as they reach their adult stage (akelis)!
They can also have 2 secondary colours on their body! These colours can be used for simple and generic colour placements. Here is a list of all placements allowed
While naga apps are similar to keling apps, there are a few differences! They should be flat on the "ground" and facing either left or right. Any back placements MUST be drawn in a separate view for mods to see. The application should not be shaded and should have a single colour for the lineart. Their hood should be fanned in apps so mods can see all the placements used. Finally, there must be a front view of their gem shape alone .
Also, you must NEVER delete your application. NEVER edit the application without a mod asking for changes.
Tuff will be here to help us! The app to the left (above for mobile viewers) is properly filled.
Tuff is drawn in a side view with all his placements very visible and clear.
All baby spots are in place and properly coloured!
He used the proper base colour AND only 2 secondaries!
His magic pits and gem are the same colour! Additionally, he has a proper number of pits!
His mouth is the proper shape!
Tuff has a total of 6 placements, with no overlapping different colours!
1. Hood (Top)
2. Hood (Bottom)
3. Snout (Tip)
4. Underarm
5. Underbelly
6. Tail (Tip)
Looks like Tuff got a bit excited. Let's break down what went wrong.
First of all, while the pose is cute it won't work of an app!
We can't see Tuff's eyes! Not even in a separate view! He also has no eyebrows!
Tuff has some overlapping placements! Not only that but he's using more than 2 secondary colours!
Tuff's tongue is the wrong colour and shape! His mouth is also the wrong shape!
Tuff should have a v nose AND magic pits, not one or the other. Additionally, you can only have a minimum of 2 pits per side, not 1.
Tuff's scales look cool but aren't allowed to start with! They should be gently rounded and more spaced apart. They should only be one colour, and that colour should be one of the used secondaries or the accent!
Lastly, Tuff's gem is different on his forehead and in the sideview.
There is nothing to worry about making mistakes in the applications. Moderators will be ready to help and provide redlines! (At your request)
