Energy magic is a hard element to learn, as it requires a lot of physical straining. Learning this element without a tutor can lead to injuries and even worse. Energy magic has mainly utility spells and a few offensive spells. The offensive spells aren't deadly in themselves, but their side effects can be.
It is rumoured that lumi trees that are pink in hue are linked to energy magic. Lelin'Kel's lumi tree is one such tree, and many townsfolks claim to feel more energetic when in proximity, which leads many to believe those rumours to be true.
Learning:
Learning this spell is a bit of a doozy as is requires constant, full awareness. It can be very mentally fatiguing to practice so breaks are recommended. Kels will often have friends throw things at them, play a whack-a-mole game, or engage in any other game/activity that requires a quick reaction.
Usage:
Enhance Reflexes is best utilised by kels whose work is hectic and random as, once learned, you can let your guard down more often. This is also common in families and kitchens, where you might need to catch breakables quickly. Aside from that, it is often used in combat to dodge attacks.
Limitations:
This spell does not slow down time or grant super speed, nor does it reveal danger. It just makes you better at quickly reacting, meaning you can't just rely on quick dodging.
Learning:
One of the more annoying spells to learn, kels must take cheep wool and rub it against themselves until static is generate. Then one must study the energising sensation of the static and, most annoyingly, the shock that comes from touching a conductive body after.
Usage:
Static Shock can sometimes be used as an alternative to Create Small Flame if kindle is present. Otherwise, it is used as a non-lethal attack. The shock can be painful but never causes lasting damage. Great for catching others off guard.
Limitations:
The shock is nothing more than that. It is startling and hurts a smidge but pretty easy to recover from. Once this spell is mastered, users of it may find that they generate static naturally and must take precaution when touching metal or friends. It's also ill-advised to practice this spell during storms, as it may draw lightning.
Learning:
Kels wanting to learn this spell start by drinking a lot of caffeine/eating a lot of sugar, with measures taken to prevent over-consumption. Focus on the sensation of too much energy, spend the day buzzing. Then, when night falls, try to recreate it. This spell is considered mastered when you can effectively pull an all-nighter.
Usage:
Energise is most commonly learned by adults who recently hatched eggs. Otherwise, it's a very useful utility spell learned by many professionals. When properly learned, it can be applied to the self, others, and even food.
Limitations:
The more exhausted and tired the kel is, the less effective Energise will be. Additionally, Energise is not equivalent to a good night's sleep, and users of it should always set aside time after their work to get real rest. Prolonged use will always result in an energy crash, causing the user to be exhausted to the point they may need to sleep 24 hours.
