Water is one of the most useful magical elements. Many water spells can be used in survival situations. Other than that, water spells can be helpful in traversing rivers or oceans. There are fewer water combat spells than almost any other element, though that isn't to say there are none. It's also a fairly safe element to learn until you get to submersion spells. Always have a buddy for those! Kels are discouraged from practicing water magic when sad as it seems to make water wavier and harder to control.
Blue lumi trees grow in swampy areas or near beaches. Their roots require much more water than other lumi trees. Kels swear that waters are calmer and easier to manage near these trees.
Learning:
Learnt through hiking in heavily wooded areas, using only smell and hearing to find it. It takes a lot of patience and concentration, making it hard for hyperactive or impatient kels to get the hand of this spell. When mastering this spell, they tend to have an unconscious feeling of knowing when they are close to water bodies.
Usage:
Obviously very useful in the wild, it is a great gadget to have up your sleeve. When comfortable this spell, it can be used to pinpoint moisture in the air.
Limitations:
Lakes and rivers are easier to find, since the larger the body of water is, the easier it gets. The further the body of water, the harder it is. Beginners will have hard times finding bodies of water further than one mile away.
Learning:
This spell is a little hard to get the hang of it, but it can be really useful in harsh situations. Kels will go in a sauna or outside on a very humid day, and try to push the particles of water together to concentrate it, either creating a visible cloud or making a little bit of rain. It takes a lot of patience to create a cloud.
Usage:
This is one of the basics of every water spells, making the user able to create water out of thin air. It can also be used by more experienced kels to dehumidify a room or for water consumption.
Limitations:
This spell uses water droplets already in the air, so it is harder to use in dry environments. Holding the water is also complicated to do over few minutes, due to the difficulty of the task.
Learning:
Beginners will start with a cup of water and holding the water into their mouth. They will then have to visualize bubbles into their head to then try and replicate it using the water in their mouth. It can be hard not to spit out the water instead of making the bubbles; make sure you have a towel near in case you have a little... bubble accident.
Usage:
It is mostly used for entertainment purposes, due to the bubbles being harmless and too frail to do anything. You can use the bubbles to calm kelings when they are a bit pouty or having a tantrum, or just create some when you are feeling a little down! Who doesn't get happy when they see bubbles?
Limitations:
The bubbles are usually small, not bigger than the palm of the user. Bigger bubbles can be achieved but need a lot of air and might leave the user on short breath.
