Air magic is known as one of the easiest elements to learn, as kels are already familiar with the wind flowing around them. This element is quite versatile, as ability-boosting spells, offensive spells and even a few defensive spells have been discovered.
Legends say that air magic comes from an orange fragment of Lumiere's powers, back when the world was first created. It is also believed that orange-hued Lumi Trees enhance the air magic around it, making it easier to learn such spells around those trees.
Learning:
Kels wanting to learn this spell will often go on windy moors and similar windy areas, to concentrate on the feeling of the wind around them. They will then be tasked to recreate it in calmer environments.
Usage:
These pushes of wind are fairly weak and are the base of air spells. They are strong enough to push small objects, usually used by akelings to do paper boat racing or see who can chug the skipping stone the furthest.
Limitations:
The wind pushes are quite weak, making it impossible to push other kels when not mastering the spell. Everyday kels can only push light to medium weight items without problems. Overusing this spell can make the spellcaster exhausted and out of breath.
Learning:
Kels learning this spell will often get short breathed, as it includes a lot of running and getting used to! The user will use the air behind them to give themselves a push while running. Learning to push yourself in the right direction might take a long time, so get ready for some tumble and crashes.
Usage:
Used to shorten commute time or as a sneaky way to win races. It allows tired kels to get home faster. Can also be used to avoid risky or dangerous situations by swiftly running away.
Limitations:
The speed that beginner kel can reach is about a second or two faster than their regular speed. No kel can run as the speed of sound, or light! It is only a boost to their natural abilities. Overuse of this spell can lead to exhaustion and leg cramps. Ouch.
Learning:
The kel wanting to learn this spell will also have to learn how to sense sound waves. They will get used to how the vibrations feel around them to then try and manipulate them! Using the air around them, they can concentrate to block out the waves or amplify them!
Usage:
The user can use this spell to amplify their voice or sounds around them, like music or ambient noises! They can also block out sounds to either soundproof a room or just pretend to be deaf in a long lecture!
Limitations:
Kels cannot change the sound itself, nor add anything to it just by using magic; it only makes it louder or quieter. Also, the sound cannot go as loud enough to damage someone else's hearing. It is also considered rude to 'mute' another kel, especially your teacher or guardian.
