“Canine Psychosomatic" is a collection of pieces representing the symbiotic relationship between myself and my dogs that I have truly cherished over the years. In many ways, I have always viewed myself as more animal than person. Back within my childhood and even now, I am not particularly engaging within my personal relationships with individuals, but rather, I am drawn more to canine companionship and their differing ways of communication. Though instability has been a common factor throughout my formative years of growth, I could always rely on coming back to someone safe and warm protecting my wellbeing. I soon became content with my lack of divulgence with my peers and gained a complete devotion towards the lives of those most precious to me. Living creatures must pass however, and my reflection of the suffering and eventual rebirth of their lives through media is also a belief that should be explored thoroughly. Through it, it’s concepts like love and connection that can be more understood fluidly between man and dog symbiotic companionship. For me, canines are truly life’s greatest indulgence, and I will continue to seek mine in every dream and reality.
