Kelsey Trevino

I am interested in reimagining my subjects as a complex array of structure and chromatic variations. When I create an artwork that is representative of a realistic subject, I integrate abstract characteristics to strike a balance between simplistic realism and imaginative surrealism. My creative process is also highly improvised, minimal planning goes into these works to allow the form and color to transpire into the artworks unexpectedly — this process allows for there to be layered images beneath the work which serve as a memory of this process. It is through experiencing the exaggerated content of my art that I invite my viewers to challenge their perception of reality.
