Why is the material you are using important to your work?

It's not, I think graphite and paint on the surface are about the permanence and visual quality of the material and marks. It's when you manipulate the material that it begins to take shape and mean something. The material is important to me because they are the easiest to use.

How does the "concept/ content/ technique" framework manifest in your work?

This concept of "easy" is an idea that repeats itself in my work, whether it is a lazy representation of a symbol or figure it is often a purposeful conscious decision. It's a decision to quickly represent something without losing its main meaning and also saving time. Sometimes I make the opposite decision and spend hours applying thousands of strokes on a single square or small area.

What is your favorite color? And why?

Witch Skin Green because I've always loved horror archetypes and green being associated with things like acid, decaying flesh, and cute witches.
