Flinders University is now accepting applications from suitably qualified students for the Nita Curtis Scholarship. It is a fully-funded scholarship for all students.
About Flinders University
Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honor of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century.
Flinders is a verdant university and a member of the Innovative Research Universities (IRU) Group and ranks in the 10–16 bracket in Australia and 36th in the world of those established less than 50 years.

Requirements for The Nita Curtis Scholarship
Applicants must:
1. Be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia; and
2. Be undertaking one of the following programs offered by the Department of Disability Studies at the University: Honors; or Graduate Certificate in Disability Studies; or Master of Disability Studies; or Masters Degree by research; and
3. Be undertaking a research project relevant to the Community Accommodation and Respite Agency (CARA) and its client population.
Selection Process
Selection will be made by a committee comprising two members nominated from CARA and two members nominated from the Department of Disability Studies, Flinders University.
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, the applicants experience in the disability field, the extent to which an applicant’s research project is relevant to CARA and its client population, and how the applicant would envisage contributing to future research in the disability field.
Preference shall be given to applicants who have worked or are currently working in the disability field in South Australia.
The scholarship holder will be required to present an oral report on the research undertaken to the Annual General Meeting of CARA.
