German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is now accepting applications from suitably qualified students for their DAAD Helmut-Schmidt Masters Scholarship. It is a fully-funded scholarship for all students.
About the Scholarship
This program is designed to further quality future leaders in politics, law, economics, and administration according to the principles of good governance and to prepare them in a praxis-oriented course for their professional life.
Very good graduates with a first university degree get the chance to get a master’s degree in disciplines that are of special relevance to the social, political, and economic development of their home country.
In addition, the training at German institutions of higher education should qualify the scholarship holders to become partners in the political and economic cooperation with Germany.

Requirements
The scholarship scheme is open to graduates in social sciences, political sciences, law, economics, and public administration from Africa, Latin America, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, from countries in the Middle East, and from Ukraine.
The scholarships are offered both for young graduates without professional experience and for mid-career professionals.
Selection Criteria
The main DAAD criteria for selection are:
1. The study results so far
2. Knowledge of English (and German)
3. Political and social engagement
4. A convincing description of the subject-related and
5. Personal motivation for the study project in Germany and the expected benefit when returning to the home country.
6. The latest university degree should have been obtained during the six years prior to the application for the scholarship.
7. Applicants cannot be considered if they have stayed in Germany for over 15 months at the time of application.
8. All master’s courses have further additional requirements that must be fulfilled by the applicants in any case.
Documents Required for Application
The required application documents are:
1. Checklist form, signed with the place and date sign.
2. DAAD application form ‘Application for a research/study scholarship’ (please type your answers or make sure they are easy to read).
3. A single letter of motivation.
4. A curriculum vitae in reverse chronological order without any unexplained gaps including exact information about your studies, and practical experience.
5. Copies of your higher education degree certificates.
6. Copy of your full set of a transcript of records.
7. Written confirmation for any work experience, internship, or professional experience.
8. Recent language certificates (for English and/or German).
9. Currently written reference from your current employer or from a university lecturer if you are a student at present, on headed paper, signed, dated, and stamped.
