Modified Contour Drawings

For my modified contour drawing I chose the 2B soft pencil and a 4B hard pencil. I used the 2B for sketching and outlining so it could be erased easily. I chose a harder pencil to clean up the lines and erased most of the sketch to purify them. This time, instead of making a blind contour drawing we could look at it. I experimented by using the contour technique, looking at my object more than usual, but I could also look at my paper. My project evolved from a light sketch to defined lines.

I used lines to emphasis the shape of the hands. I used texture by including all the divots and bumps in my hands. I created unity by adding the rubber band.

The idea of this piece is a hand holding rubber band, It doesn't really have a story because it was a very specific assignment. I guess you could say that it related to my life because it is my hand in the drawing. I'm proudest of drawing my fingers, I think I did a pretty good job making them look realistic and proportional. I struggled with making the rubber band look normal although, but I focused on it and figured it out.
