Patchwork Bucket hat

My leading question was how can I make fashion from reused materials. For my first sustained investigation, I was inspired by the trend of bucket hats coming back into style again. My mom used to work at LL.bean and had tons of sample fabric from her time there. They have stayed in our basement for about 7 years until I dug them out. From there I knew I wanted to make my own fabric from the scraps.

After gathering everything I needed at school, I started to cut the scraps into different-sized pieces and sewed them together using my sewing machine. This was such a tedious process, but it was defiantly worth it. Once all the fabric was sewn, I cut it into a bucket hat pattern and sewed the hat together.

I used fleece fabric scraps, a bucket hat pattern, and my sewing machine in this project. I think if I had to do this again I would use a different bucket hat pattern, because I realized after that it was a childrens's size. That's okay although :)
