As faculty you may want to use Google Drive to share items with colleagues, students or other STCC campus members. You can share the files and folders that you store in Google Drive with anyone in your work or school account, anyone@stcc.edu. However your organization may limit how you can share files with other people [outside the STCC campus].
When you share from Google Drive, you can control whether people can edit, comment on, or only view the file.
Always double check [and if necessary test] your Sharing settings.
To create a shared folder in Google Drive, navigate to Google Drive, select or create the desired folder, and then click the Share icon to enter email addresses and set permissions as Viewer (for viewing only) or Editor (for viewing and making changes).
Open Google Drive on your computer or mobile device.
Select the folder you want to share, or create a new one.
Click the Share icon (represented by a person with a plus sign).
Enter the email addresses of the people or Google Group you want to share with.
Choose a permission level from the drop-down menu:
Viewer: Users can view the files in the folder.
Commenter: Users can add comments and suggestions.
Editor: Users can view, comment on, add to, and edit files within the folder.
Select the box next to "Notify people" if you want them to receive an email with a link to the folder.
Click Send to complete the sharing process.
