ScreenPal
Use ScreenPal (formally known as ScreencastOmatic) to record a lecture, slide presentation, document overview, or software demo. STCC provides faculty an institutional account for this easy to use, cloud based, screen capture tool.
Getting started with ScreenPal
Email digitallearning@stcc.edu to request an STCC ScreenPal account.
Navigate to ScreenPal to login.

Instructional Advice
Check to make sure you have a working web camera and microphone on your computer.
When preparing to record, silence your phones and eliminate background noise such as family members, pets and televisions.
If you are making a recording of yourself, make sure to check what items are displayed in the background.
Prepare a script or outline ahead of time. It will help you stay on track.
Practice using the software, try a few practice runs. Watch and see what you like and what you didn't before you make any classroom or instructional presentations.
Keep your video length under 15 minutes even if you have more time available.
Quick Start Steps
Open a browser tab, document, or software to the content on your screen you want to record.
Navigate to ScreenPal.
Select to Sign in With Google, and use your STCC Google account.
Select to Launch Recorder (red circle record button). If you have not previously used ScreenPal or your app requires updates, you will prompted to install the recorder.
Adjust the dashed line rectangle to the content you want to record.
Select whether you want to record your screen, your camera, or both.
Select the red REC button to record. You can pause and resume your recording. See ScreenPal keyboard shortcuts for quick pausing and resuming.
Select Done when finished.
Select Save/Upload to upload your video to ScreenPal or YouTube. Your STCC Google account gives you full YouTube access. You can link your ScreenPal account to your YouTube account for easy uploading. Read more about working with YouTube.
Do more with ScreenPal: add quizzing
The STCC ScreenPal license gives access to interactive quizzing. Engage your students by asking them multiple choice, true/false, short answer, poll, and rating questions. See ScreenPal tutorials to get started:

ScreenPal is a software that lets you to record multimedia presentations using your personal computer. This is the software you can use to record lectures, presentations, web tours, or training videos. You can also incorporate interactive quiz questions.
