Google Hangout Meet
Google Hangout Meet is a video conferencing app. It is the business-oriented version of Google's Hangout Meet platform and is suitable for meetings of all sizes. Google Hangout Meet integrates with G Suite versions of Google Calendar and Gmail.
STCC IT has enabled some special Google Hangout Meet features which allow:
The ability to record meetings and save them to Google Drive
Larger meetings, for up to 250 participants per call
Live streaming for up to 100,000 viewers within a domain
Other Google Hangouts Meet Features
You can invite participants via your Google Calendar
Participants can also phone into a Google Hangouts Meet
You can share your desktop with your participants
You may use a chat feature, during the Hangouts Meet
Participants can access the Hangouts Meet with their mobile devices
Open the Meet app on your Android (Play Store) or Apple® iOS® (App Store) mobile device.

Create a Google Hangout Meet
Go to Google Calendar and create an event.
Enter the meeting name
Enter a date and time
Invite guests
Student email lists can be found on WebAdvisor
Add conferencing field
Click drop down and click Hangouts Meet
Enter any description to the meeting i.e. this could be office hours, one-to-one meeting with students or small/large group meetings
Click Save button
At the time of the meeting
Go to Google Calendar
Click on the Event/Meeting
Click Join Hangouts Meet
A new window will open
Click Join now button
Adjust camera and microphone as desired
Bottom right corner of the screen, three vertical dots, expand to view More options
Present now button allows you to share your computer screen
Choose from Your
Bottom left corner of the screen, three vertical dots, expand to view Meeting details
Depending upon the size of the meeting, ask attendees to mute their microphones, to eliminate
Once everyone has entered the meeting, open the Chat box, upper right corner of the screen
Recording the Google Hangout Meet
Bottom right corner of the screen, three vertical dots, expand to view More options
Click Start Record - Be sure to ask your audience for indication of permission to begin recording
Participants can add a 'yes' or icon indication in the Chat box
When Google Hangout Meet is complete
Bottom right corner of the screen, three vertical dots, expand to view More options
Click Stop Record
The recording will be stored in the Google Drive of the person who created the Google Hangout Meet
Navigate to that recording file and configure sharing permissions
