Blackboard ILP
What is the ILP?
ILP stands for Intelligent Learning Platform. It's a term used by the company that support ARIES. Basically, ILP is a "bridge" between two systems, in this case, Blackboard and ARIES, that allows data to be shared between the two systems.
How do I know I have "Blackboard ILP Shell?"
ILP integrated course shells will always have a 6 digit number assigned as the Course ID. If you don't have this number, you don't have a Blackboard ILP shell.
You should use the ILP if:
If you have attended CODL Grade Center workshops, and have set up your Mid-term and Finals columns
Worked with an Instructional Designer or the Blackboard System Administrator to organize your Grade Center Mid-term and Finals columns
are familiar with Grade Center features, including grading functionality, Column Organization, and calculating columns
We strongly encourage faculty to use Blackboard's Grade Center, as it provides multiple features beyond grade input.
What features do you ask? Here are a few examples:
You can set up your Grade Center to show students progress on homework, such as assignments, discussions, and exams. Students can view their grade progression throughout the semester.
Once you review and submit grades, the Grade Center maintains the records of individual homework and assessment grades, as well as Mid-Term and Final Grades, once you have applied appropriate settings
Track attendance in-person lecture or lab courses within Blackboard
Track submissions in one location
Send emails to students from the Grade Center about incomplete work
