March 10, 2011- It’s that time of year again! The new Racing Lyme Disease Awareness Car is currently in the shop undergoing inspection by officials. Once the design is approved, this year’s entry will be ready to go to help us get the word out far and wide about Lyme disease. That is when we will need YOUR help - to get people to vote for the Racing Lyme Disease Awareness Car!

Our theme this year is “Get it Right, Treat the Bite!”

When our car is unveiled we will only have 15 days to get as many votes as possible! Remember, you can vote once a day, so please be ready to go when that green flag waves! Cars with the highest numbers of votes will be featured in the final round of voting where they can be seen by even more people world wide.

The competition is tough! Last year over 78,000 cars entered the contest. With your votes our Racing Lyme Disease Awareness Car placed 15th, an amazing accomplishment for a team of racing rookies, with a total of 7,889 votes! With your help we believe our car will do even better this year! It’s all up to you!

A special note- This year’s car is dedicated to Dr. Charles Ray Jones and the precious children who suffer with Lyme and tick borne diseases. On March 14, 2011, Dr. Jones will be 82 years young! He and his wonderful staff are still treating as many children as possible to help them get their lives back. If you don’t know Dr. Jones’ story please visit the site dedicated to him, his staff and his kids.

Aside from raising awareness across the internet, the winning car (grand prize) will be featured at the 2011 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race this summer where it can be seen by millions of fans via television coverage and news reports. The winner will also receive a prize package of Toyota Racing Gear and be honored with a visit from a (real) NASCAR driver. Should our car win, all prizes will be donated to individual(s) dealing with chronic Lyme disease.

Boogity, boogity, boogity… Let’s go racing, boys!
