Neighbours

A College is not an island. It is enmeshed spatially in the geographical region in which the campus of the College is located. Even though the floating population which inhabit the college premises - students, teachers, staff, parents, alumni, etc. - have little contact with the world outside the four walls of the campus, they cannot fully isolate themselves from the realities of the bustling life outside. It is imperative that the institution reaches out to these people especially those who are less privileged than most students of the College.

Let us have look at the immediate neihborhood of the College.

The College campus is within the administrative jurisdiction of Veloor Grama Panchayath, a local self-government body under Government of Kerala. However It is located in a corner, the south-west corner (see map below), of the Panchayath so that residents of Choondal Grama Panchayath, which is on the western borders of Velur Grama Panchayath, and Kaiparamba Grama Panchayath, which lies on the south side of Velur Grama Panchayath, are also in the immediate neighborhood of the College.
