Circa 1849-1851- Samuel McCammon House

The Samuel McCammon House was built around 1849-1851.

Location: 1715 Riverside Drive, Knoxville

From the publication "The Future of Knoxville’s Past- Historic and Architectural Resources in Knoxville, Tennessee- Knoxville Historic Zoning Commission, October 2006," prepared by the Knoxville-Knox County Metropolitan Planning Commission:

“McCammon (Samuel) House, 1715 Riverside (1849-1851). This two-story brick Federal home was built by Knoxville farmer Samuel McCammon and contains on its property one of the former James White homes” (p. 19). According to the website www.findagrave.com, Samuel McCammon lived from 1808 to 1865 and is buried in the Dunn Cemetery in South Knoxville.

I found a blog online called Knoxstalgia that says Samuel McCammon was also the Sheriff of Knox County from 1838 to 1850.
