Circa 1816- Chamberlain-Little House

The Chamberlain-Little House was built around 1816.

Location: Near 6060 Circle Road, near the northeast foot of House Mountain

A woman named Suzan has done some research on this house and presented her findings on her blog. She starts out by saying "The homestead which has been called the 'Little Place,' lies between House Mountain and Clinch Mountain in Knox Co., Tenn. It is an original land grant of 1786 for Jermiah Chamberlain (1740-1829) for his service as a surveyor during the Revolutionary War." Read more on her blog.

The Knox County GIS website, on its PDF list of Historic Sites of Knox County, TN, says that the Chamberlain-Little House was built in or around 1816. The Knox County Metropolitan Planning Commission in its Northeast County Sector Plan Update- Third Meeting also says that this house was built around 1816.
