1815- William Campbell House
Location: 7048 Kodak Road, Knoxville
The William Campbell House was built in 1815 and expanded around 1900. On the website for the Knox County Metropolitan Planning Commission, there is a document called the East County Sector Plan. This house is discussed on page 23:
“William Campbell House:
William Campbell was a son of Alexander Campbell and in 1815 he built this two-story brick house, which was later expanded to include a front section around 1900.”
In September 2003, the Knoxville Knox County Metropolitan Planning Commission published "The French Broad River Corridor Study." On page 29 of this report, it says:
The William Campbell House was constructed by the son of Alexander Campbell, William, who moved to Riverdale in 1815 from west Knox County where he had opened a general store with Charles McClung. The brick two-story house includes a front addition of Queen Anne style that was constructed in the 1890s.
I haven't had the opportunity to go out and photograph this house yet. In the meantime, here is a screen shot that I saved from Google Maps.
