Cure Tooth Decay Naturally By

Identifying The Real Cause of Cavities

In light of the shaky economy, people are stressed about spending - and under stress, many resort to poor eating habits with diets high in sugar. But by changing dietary routines, you can limit and avoid tooth fillings and costly treatments like crowns and root canals, while bringing more health and balance to your body.

Ramiel Nagel began investigating the cause of tooth decay after his one year old daughter developed a brown spot on her tooth. Even while eating an all natural and organic diet without any processed sweets, Nagel's daughter's teeth rapidly began to disintegrate and decay. Rather than subject her to costly and overly invasive dental surgery, he chose to find a better way.

Through a successful cavities mineralizing program, reader feedback and four years of painstaking trial and error, Nagel's daughter was pain free with strong teeth by the age of five. She was able to eat nuts and chew on ice cubes, all without any chemicals or dental treatments. Following the same program, Nagel healed four of his own cavities and avoided the dental drill.

Nagel then authored "Cure Tooth Decay", a book based on the pioneering dental work of dentists Weston Price and Melvin Page.

He outlines six nutritional healing programs:

1. The "best" mineralizing program for rapid tooth healing and for severe cases.

2. Dr. Price's original tooth mineralizing program that was over 95% effective on even severe cases of tooth decay.

3. Dentist Melvin Page's tooth healing program

4. The combined program, utilizing the cumulative wisdom of the most effective ways to stop cavities.

5. A vegetarian program for vegetarians.

6. A tooth decay prevention and mineralizing program for toddler's and children.

What's Wrong with The Modern Belief About Cavities

The "modern" theory of dental disease suggests that we have an almost total lack of power and responsibility concerning this condition. This theory then allows people to stay in their childish beliefs, which state that their behaviors in life have little to do with the amount of cavities in their teeth, or the state of their general health for that matter.

The modern system of dentistry has falsely led us to believe that tooth decay is caused by bacteria (identified as Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacillus acidophilus) and that bacteria ingest foods in the mouth and produce acid, thus causing the physical structure of teeth to erode. This theory then aims to control bacterial growth in the mouth as a treatment to prevent cavities. It can be summarized as follows:

1. You must brush your teeth all the time to eliminate these dangerous bacteria.

2. You must rinse your mouth with chemicals to eliminate more dangerous bacteria.

3. You must floss to eliminate the remaining bacteria and food particles.

4. When those three tactics do not work, you must have the bacterial infestations removed from your mouth by a dental drill, thus leaving your mouth free of bacteria.

5. When a dental drill cannot remove the bacteria and the bacterial growth progresses, the tooth root can become infected, which then requires a root canal filling. The solution to the infected tooth root is to first remove the top of the tooth and then clean the inside of the tooth with chemicals. Next, this traumatized tooth is filled with a synthetic material, leaving the inside of your tooth sterile.

6. Finally, when all those procedures fail to keep your tooth alive, from the supposed onslaught of bacterial invaders, the tooth must be removed and a fake tooth or no tooth is what remains.

By the time the sixth stage is reached, many people have spent thousands of dollars on dental care. But no matter how much money people spend on dentists and dental treatments, the real cure for cavities still seems elusive. It appears that not enough people have noticed that these methods for treating teeth do not cure the problem. Modern treatments do limit some pain and suffering, but if the basic cause of tooth decay is not addressed, your teeth will continue to decay. For the majority of us, there is another way to halt, prevent and even remineralize decayed teeth.

Figure 1.0 shows the results of a large study of about 16,000 individuals. The study was conducted from 1999 to 2002, by a government agency in the United States. The chart illustrates the progression of tooth decay as we age. In fact, the statistics for people over the age of 40 are dismal. On average, 45.89 per cent of all teeth in this age group have been affected by decay. That average represents nearly half the teeth in each person's mouth that have been affected by decay. This only gets worse. By the time the average person reaches 60 years of age, 62.36 percent of all their teeth have been affected by decay.

Home Remedies for Toothache

Toothaches can vary greatly, from mild soreness to an unbearable throbbing pain in your teeth or around your jaws. Some of the main causes of toothaches are cavities, an infection, an exposed tooth root, a cracked tooth, gum disease, a loose filling, or jaw joint disorder.

A toothache (see the above diagram) happens when the central region of the tooth, known as the pulp, becomes irritated or inflamed. The pulp consists of several nerve endings that are highly sensitive. Pulp can become inflamed or irritated for many reasons, some of which are noted above.

If you have toothache, it is best to seek immediate advice from a dentist before the problem becomes worse. But if you are not able to make it to the dentist, you can try some natural remedies to relieve the pain.

Here are the top 10 home remedies for toothaches.

1. Pepper and Salt

Salt mixed with pepper can be of great use when a tooth becomes extremely sensitive.

    1. Mix equal amounts of pepper and common salt with a few drops of water to form a paste.

    2. Apply the paste directly on the affected tooth and allow it to sit for a few minutes.

    3. Do this daily for several days.

2. Garlic

Use of garlic can also give immense relief from toothache. Garlic has antibiotic and other medicinal properties that can be very effective in slowing down bacterial effects.

    1. Mix a crushed garlic clove (or garlic powder) with some table salt or black salt and apply it directly on the affected tooth to alleviate the pain. If you prefer, you can chew one or two cloves of garlic to get relief.

    2. Repeat this natural treatment for a few days.

3. Cloves

No home remedy is better for toothaches than cloves. Cloves have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antioxidant and anesthetic properties that help alleviate tooth pain and fight infection.

    • Grind two cloves, and mix it in a little olive oil or any vegetable oil. Now apply this solution on the affected tooth.

    • Dab a cotton ball in clove oil and rub it directly on the sore tooth. Alternatively, you can mix a few drops of clove oil in half a glass of water and use it as a mouth rinse.

4. Onion

Onions have antiseptic and antimicrobial properties that can control a toothache. It can provide relief from pain by killing the germs causing an infection.

    • At the first sign of a toothache, chew raw onion for a few minutes to relieve pain.

    • If you are not able to chew it, place a piece of raw onion directly on the bad tooth or gum.

5. Asafetida

Dental problems such as toothaches and bleeding gums can be treated at home with the use of asafetida.

    • Simply add a pinch of powdered asafetida to lemon juice and then warm it slightly. Use a cotton pad to apply the solution on the affected area. This will give you quick relief from the pain.

    • Alternatively, asafetida fried in clarified butter can be put in the tooth cavity for instant relief.

6. Warm Salt Water

A simple glass of warm salt water can help treat a toothache. Mix half a spoon of common salt in a glass of very warm water and use it to rinse your mouth thoroughly. When the solution comes in contact with the affected tooth, it will extract fluid from the tissue and reduce swelling on the nerves. This mouthwash will also fight bacteria that cause infection.

7. Guava Leaves

Fresh guava leaves can also alleviate toothache.

    • Simply chew one or two tender guava leaves until the juice starts working on the affected tooth.

    • Another remedy is to put four to five guava leaves in water and boil it. Allow the solution to cool to a warm temperature and add some salt. Use the solution as a mouthwash.

If you don’t have guava leaves, you can use raw spinach leaves instead.

8. Wheatgrass Juice

Wheatgrass has natural antibacterial properties that will relieve the pain and also help fight tooth decay. Extract the juice of wheatgrass and use it as a mouthwash. It will absorb toxins from the gums, reduce the growth of bacteria and keep the infection under control. If you wish, you can simply chew on wheatgrass.

9. Bayberry

Bayberry is also a good ingredient for pain relief and to strengthen your gums.

    1. Make a paste of bayberry bark and mix it with vinegar.

    2. Apply the paste on the affected tooth for relief from the pain.

10. Ice Cube

Ice can help alleviate tooth pain by numbing the nerves and gums.

    • Put a small ice cube in a plastic bag and then wrap it in a thin cotton cloth. Hold it on your cheek near the aching tooth for a few minutes. You can also place ice directly on the tooth, but do so carefully. If you have exposed nerves, contact with the cold can cause more pain.

    • An acupressure technique that can ease tooth pain is to rub an ice cube between your index finger and thumb for a few minutes.

Tips to keep your pearly whites healthy:

-Drink a glass of water with 1 tsp honey early in the morning

-Chew a clove slowly after meals to keep teeth and gums strong

-Avoid very hot or very cold food or drinks and minimise sugar intake

-Use neem or meswak sticks as a brush along with regular brushing twice a day

-Rub your teeth and gums with a paste of 1gm turmeric powder or rock salt with ½ tsp mustard oil

If dental drilling, root canals, tooth pulling, mass water fluoridation, tooth brushing, and toothpastes were the proper treatments for cavities, then we would not see this increase of tooth decay over time.

Are we to assume that over 90 per cent of the population is not following the prescribed protocol or… is something fundamentally wrong with this "modern" approach to preventing and halting cavities?

Fluoridation is not about "children’s teeth," it is about industry getting rid of its hazardous waste at a profit, instead of having to pay a fortune to dispose of it.

Only calcium fluoride occurs naturally in water; and although is not toxic, it offers no real health benefits. Regardless, calcium fluoride has never been used for fluoridation. Instead what is used over 90 percent of the time are silicofluorides, which are 85 times more toxic than calcium fluoride. They are non-biodegradable, hazardous waste products that come straight from the pollution scrubbers of big industries. If not dumped in the public water supplies, these silicofluorides would have to be neutralized at the highest rated hazardous waste facility at a cost of $1.40 per gallon (or more depending on how much cadmium, lead, uranium and arsenic are also present). Cities buy these unrefined pollutants and dump them--lead, arsenic and all--into our water systems. Silicofluorides are almost as toxic as arsenic, and more toxic than lead.

The largest study of tooth decay in America (by the National Institute of Dental Research in 1987) proved that there was no significant difference in the decay rates of 39,000 fluoridated, partially fluoridated and non-fluoridated children, ages 5 to 17, surveyed in 84 cities. The media has never disclosed these facts.

Several recent studies show that fluoridation is correlated with higher rather than lower rates of cavities. There has been no study that shows any cost-saving by fluoridation. In fact, dentists make 17 percent more profit in fluoridated areas as opposed to non-fluoridated areas. Nagel suggests that this is because fluoride is poisonous to the body. The constant consumption of fluoridated water (poison water) will over time, erode the strength of some of our internal systems, because the organs are constantly being deluged with poison. Our dental health is a reflection of the internal chemistry and health of our organs and glands. When our organs and glands are poisoned, they won't work as well over time, and thus people will have a lower immunity to cavities.

Meanwhile, the incidence of dental fluorosis has skyrocketed. It is not just a "cosmetic effect." Webster’s Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary says: "Fluorosis is poisoning by fluorides." Today, in North America, there is an increased prevalence of dental fluorosis, ranging from about 15 percent to 65 percent in fluoridated areas and 5 percent to 40 percent in non-fluoridated areas. The widespread and uncontrolled use of fluoride in our water, dental products, foods and beverages (grown and processed in fluoridated communities) is causing pervasive over-exposure to fluoride.

Turn on the television and within minutes, you are likely to hear about a newfangled vitamin-stuffed cereal. Tune in the radio and discover that we now have fiber in convenience foods. All of this stems from the well-established fact that vitamins and minerals influence every cell, tissue, organ and site in the human system. It figures, therefore, that the mouth should also be part of the story. What is the connection between nutrition and susceptibility to oral disease?

The findings of several investigations suggest that vitamin C metabolism is directly correlated with plaque development. Groups who have demonstrated to have the poorest vitamin C levels had the most plaque debris while groups with the best vitamin C levels had the least accumulations. In other words, this can be viewed as a demonstration of nonmechanical brushing--an invisible toothbrush. In addition, poor digestion of calcium and phosphorus metabolism may also play crucial roles in the development of plaque.

Thus, although there does indeed appear to be a convincing relationship between tooth cleansing (toothbrushing frequency) and tooth cleanliness, diet may play the ultimate role in determining the rate, if any, of tooth decay.

It is the missing vitamins in our diet that is the primary cause of tooth cavities. Not a lack of fluoride tooth brushing, or dental visits. By consuming whole and unrefined foods, and not just vegetables, but foods not commonly eaten today, such as liver, bone marrow, unpastuerized milk and butter from grassfed cows, and more, we can reclaim our natural ability to have health teeth and bones.

Avoiding your dentist can save your life

Monday, February 10, 2014 by: Michelle Goldstein

The standard practice of dentistry is dangerous to American health. The American Dental Association continues to maintain that mercury fillings and root canals are safe dental procedures, in spite of the overwhelming evidence against these practices. Routine high speed drilling saves dentists time, but also unwittingly destroys teeth, requiring root canals to save them.

The fluoride treatments and fluoridated toothpaste recommended to "protect" teeth, actually harm teeth and health. The fact that a nutrient dense, high fat soluble vitamin diet can prevent cavities and avoid the need for orthodontia is unknown for most individuals.

The majority of Americans have no idea how dangerous modern dentistry really is. Dentists aren't bad people, but their training, similar to that received by allopathic physicians, is largely incorrect and health damaging to patients.

What the ADA has to say

The ADA states the following: "Dental amalgam is considered a safe, affordable and durable material that has been used to restore the teeth of more than 100 million Americans. It contains a mixture of metals such as silver, copper and tin, in addition to mercury, which binds these components into a hard, stable and safe substance. Dental amalgam has been studied and reviewed extensively, and has established a record of safety and effectiveness." Regarding root canals, the ADA reports that "Root canal treatment is necessary when the pulp (soft tissue inside your teeth containing blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue) becomes inflamed and diseased."

Why root canals and mercury fillings are dangerous to health

When root canal surgery is performed, the seal made is not complete, allowing anaerobic bacteria to grow and spread throughout the body. Specific cancers have been linked along meridian points leading directly to the site of a diseased root canal. There are reported cases of cancers resolving when the corresponding diseased root canal is removed. When root canals have been removed by holistic dentists, 100 percent are found to be infected. If one's immune system is strong, the body can fight the infectious root canal, but if one's immune system weakens, this continuous source of infection can be the tipping scale towards serious illness. Removal of diseased teeth and use of a bridge is a safer procedure.

Mercury vapors from amalgam fillings release dangerous toxic mercury into the body on a daily basis accumulating dangerous mercury levels. Mercury toxicity is linked to the following symptoms: headaches, ringing in ears, dizziness, anxiety, depression, weight and bone loss, colitis, fatigue, asthma, memory loss and renal failure. Several diseases are associated with mercury toxicity including: Alzheimer's, multiple sclerosis, Crohn's disease, diabetes, kidney and liver disease.

How high speed drilling used to remove cavities destroys teeth

Dentists routinely use high speed drilling to remove cavities, allowing space for fillings. This practice saves time, allowing for quicker procedures. Unfortunately, this routine practice is unsafe and often leads to the eventual destruction of the tooth's pulp, resulting in the need for a root canal. Holistic trained dentists utilize a slower, safer speed drill.

The problem with fluoride

Fluoride is a toxic waste product routinely recommended to prevent tooth decay. It is dangerous to health if swallowed and can cause damage to the tooth enamel. Fluoride toothpaste labels warn that ingestion of the toothpaste can result in poisoning.

Diet can prevent cavities and crooked teeth. Brilliant dentist Weston Price discovered in his remarkable 10-year research of endemic cultures, in the 1930s, that diets rich in fat soluble vitamins prevented tooth decay and also produced adequate palates for straight teeth. 4 reasons dental problems are causing illness in your body

by Derek Henry

(NaturalNews) Teeth have been treated as tools rather than a living part of our physiology. They have been pulled, drilled, and filled, and as a result, significant damage has been inflicted to the rest of the body. This is why it's vitally important to understand the four reasons dental problems are causing illness in the body, and how to help remedy them.

Infections under the teeth

Pockets of infection can exist under the teeth and be undetectable by x-rays. This is especially true for teeth that have had root canals, as it is incredibly hard to remove bacteria and toxins from the roots during this procedure.

These infections may persist for years without the patient's knowledge. When infections are present, toxins can leak out and depress the function of the immune system, leading to chronic degenerative diseases throughout the body. Once the infection is eliminated, many of the symptoms will disappear.

To help keep your mouth free of unwanted bacteria, consider oil pulling which can help remove unwanted bacteria.

Root canals

Michael Ziff, D.D.S., points out through research that 100 percent of root canals result in residual infection, and may be due to the imperfect seal that allows bacteria to penetrate. The oxygen-lacking environment of a root canal can cause bacteria to undergo changes, producing potent toxins that leak out into the body.

The late Weston Price, D.D.S., M.S., F.A.C.D., also found that toxins leaking out of root canals may cause systemic diseases of the heart, kidney, uterus, and nervous and endocrine systems.

Dr. Huggins adds to this by stating that when a tooth with a root canal is removed, the periodontal ligament that attaches to the tooth should also be removed, otherwise a pocket infection may remain. Full removal of the tooth and ligament stimulates the old bone to produce new bone for healing.

Toxicity from restoration materials

Dental amalgam fillings can release mercury, tin, copper, and silver into the body. These metals have various degrees of toxicity, and when used as fillings for teeth, can corrode or disassociate into metallic ions. These ions then migrate from the tooth to the root, the mouth, the bone, the connective tissues of the jaw, and finally into the nerves. This allows them to travel into the central nervous system, where the ions will permanently reside, disrupting the body's normal functioning if they are not removed.

While all metals used for dental restoration are toxic, the most harmful are mercury dental amalgams (silver) used for fillings. These "silver fillings" contain 50 percent mercury and only 25 percent silver. Mercury has been recognized as a poison since the 1500s, yet they have been used in dentistry since the 1820s.

As astutely stated by Richard D. Fischer, D.D.S., "I don't feel comfortable using a substance (mercury amalgams) designated by the EPA to be a waste disposal hazard. I can't throw it in the trash, bury it in the ground, or put it in a landfill, but they say it's okay to put it in people's mouths. That doesn't make sense".

Avoid mercury fillings, and have existing ones properly removed by a biological dentist.

Electrogalvanism

Due to its mineral content, saliva in the mouth is electrically conductive. When saliva interacts with a dental restoration containing metal, a battery is created causing an effect known as electrogalvanism. This is literally electricity generated by a person's fillings.

The saliva acts as a conductant and the dissimilar metal fillings try to neutralize each other to balance out the electrical charge. This causes toxic materials from the filling to erode, and leak into thebody. This can cause a lack of concentration and memory, insomnia, psychological problems, tinnitus, vertigo, epilepsy, hearing loss, and eye problems.

Proceed cautiously when considering dental procedures, and eat properly to avoid them altogether.

His popular Wellness Transformation E-Guide and Ultimate Reset coaching program gives people step by step solutions to achieve a healthier body and mind, while empowering them to maintain that lifestyle through a fundamental education based on the 4 pillars of true health.

1. Milk

Milk is a dairy product that provides calcium and phosphates along with vitamin D, which helps the body make full use of the calcium. All these nutrients are essential for healthy teeth and strong bones.

Drinking milk regularly will strengthen and repair tooth enamel, as well as fortify your bones. If you are allergic to milk or lactose intolerant, you can drink soy milk that is fortified with calcium as an alternative.

2. Cheese

Cheese is an excellent food choice to keep your teeth strong and healthy. Cheese is another saliva-generator. It also contains calcium and phosphates that help neutralize acids in your mouth, and casein that helps fortify your teeth’s surface.

Those who are prone to cavities would do well to eat a small piece of cheese after a meal to prevent decay. You can keep it interesting by choosing different types of cheese such as Romano, Swiss, part-skim ricotta, pasteurized American cheese, provolone, part-skim mozzarella and cheddar cheese.

3. Apple

Eating apples increases saliva in the mouth and prevents cavity buildup by scrubbing your teeth’s surface.

Plus, they are loaded with various vitamins and minerals that aid in overall health. Try eating an apple after your dinner to help clean in between your teeth.

4. Oranges

Oranges are a rich source of calcium, vitamins C and D, and other nutrients that are good for the health of your teeth.

Orange juice will naturally cleanse your mouth by eliminating harmful bacteria and helping prevent tooth decay.

As orange juice is slightly acidic in nature, brush and floss your teeth as recommended after drinking it. You can also mix oranges with other citrus fruits to maintain the health of your teeth.

5. Yogurt

Plain, non-fat yogurt is an excellent source of calcium and a good source of protein. Eating yogurt regularly will support dental health and can be a huge help if you are trying to lose weight.

Bear in mind, for better health you’ll want to choose yogurt that is low in fat and sugars. You can enjoy yogurt as it is, mix in some fresh berries for an extra serving of fruit, or even try a yogurt smoothie.

6. Nuts

Different types of nuts provide essential vitamins and minerals for your teeth. For example, peanuts contain calcium and vitamin D; almonds contain high levels of calcium; cashews help stimulate saliva; and walnuts contain good amounts of fiber, folic acid, iron, thiamine, magnesium, niacin, vitamins E and B6, potassium and zinc that are all good for your teeth.

Teeth enamel may be the hardest substance in the body, but it can be quite brittle so chew those nuts carefully.

7. Tea

Both green and black teas contain compounds called polyphenols that interact with the bacteria that causes plaque. These polyphenols either kill or suppress bacteria, preventing them from growing or producing tooth-attacking acid.

Green and black tea also contain cavity-fighting properties. So, drink one or two cups of green or black tea regularly, and use honey instead of sugar as a sweetener if needed. Choosing green tea will give you many other added health benefits.

8. Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate contains cocoa, which contains tannin that helps prevent tooth erosion and decay by combating inflammation of the gums. Cocoa also reduces the growth of plaque and appears to lower acid production.

Dark chocolate can also promote blood circulation in the gums. Chocolate has many antioxidants and disease-fighting phenolic compounds that combat cell damage in the mouth and throughout the body. So enjoy a piece of dark chocolate several times a day.

9. Water

Water is indispensable when it comes to oral health. It is the primary component in saliva, which deposits essential minerals into your teeth. It also washes away small food particles between your teeth, which is important to the health of both your teeth and gums.

Water also keeps your gums well hydrated and helps prevent decay by strengthening tooth enamel. Most tap water also contains fluoride, a mineral that protects against tooth erosion (also found in toothpaste and some mouthwashes).

So to keep your teeth healthy and decay free, always try to drink as much water as you can.
