a long haul
into country Amerika
cloudy country highways of distant lights
topping full speed
desperate refugees leaving little behind
(for the vultures),
short on expectations
flawed thoughts
pending deaths
inevitable reality sandwiches
a long haul
into this Kansas night
when I move best,
a silent assassin
staunchly unafraid to resist wars
or pretty sunflower waitresses
who tend their own patience
1000 miles outside
these horizontal Topeka plains
hours ago
phantasmagorical red fireball watercolor sun
faded into Pacific coast skies
my first Rocky Mountain vision
hours ago
metal engine machine
coughing and sneezing then halting
my first true westward lesson
things can take care of themselves
without input
without fret
inside this moment
another Earth has unlocked
then opened up
spilling more hidden surprises
for some naked dreamers
who check out the show right
