as a breath fades
flowers wither,
yet stones
and souls endure
pebbles placed ontop gravestones
each a permanent bond,
each a weight
grounding our spirit,
yoking ghosts to the earth,
sheltered by each other’s eternity,
secured upon the Shepherd’s sling
still, we must acknowledge those souls who must forever drift,
who instead chose the endless air,
the wending wind to bond
and to shelter those delicate souls,
we must celebrate their hope for unbounded freedom
to forever roam,
to forever seek serenity
thus, whether earth or sky
should embrace the fragility of her of Life everlasting:
may Patty now forever be protected from the curse of endless drift;
may Patty now forever be protected from the curse of perished memory!
