after the Fruit
Tree,
Fruit from Tree,
Boy tasted Fruit,
Fruit that was shared supper,
Woman who is fruit.
Boy now hungry,
Fruit now ripe,
Tree that bred Fruit,
Earth that sweetened her rainy Hair,
Fruit that embraced him
that drew Breath from within her,
Breasts opening
where Tree touched Earth,
Boy who could taste Fruit
could drink from her Leaves.
Boy longed for her Fruit,
Poems born from Earth’s MotherOcean,
Poems rooted in Wind,
Fruit sweetened by Sky,
Boy who kneeled beneath Sky
trusting the Fruit to ripen Earth,
Earth that is Temple,
Woman who is Tree,
who merged her Sex with Tree,
who planted her Roots to Earth,
whose Lips are Fruit
Boy could only taste.
Woman.
Tree.
Earth.
and Boy
ripen into One,
bearing all the Sweetness
after the Fruit
ornaments them,
and then begins again.
