For Laurie, and Her Runaway Hitchhiker Hat

from the time u remembered our voices

          instead of those repeated syllables and enunciations,

                   i have figured out ways to syncopate inside time

it came from every proposition youd slap together

                   and evolved into something more than habits

                             ontop of censored decisions

                                     then let's hope someday to fall across other spontaneous melodies

                                               that i might sweetly play
