Ornette fingering his wanton horn
she appeared,
Andalusian dancer
dazzling a laced Spanish dress
white fringe wheeling,
charcoal black flamenco shawl
leaving the woman taunting
insulating her essence
there she'd emerged
where I couldn't help myself
as she is there in my shoes,
some disembodied Carmen embracing this lover's visions:
red candlelight angel
Indian midnight Ocean hair streaming
but then she suddenly sombered
suddenly in jeans
suddenly forlorn,
dodging misfits
fighting back fossilized tears,
a history’s years
of serving endless days,
of offering herself
to another's night of loneliness,
a light of hope,
Spanish red skin dress candlelight
so tonight I dress in your jeans
impersonate your heart,
because you lent your dance to me
your then and now,
a lover's baile
¡un poema perfecto!
