when my dear Friend tries to relieve herself of waste
nothing comes,
no waste inside
good for her
later stretching out on the back porch
her Tabby belly growing grey full and furry,
knowing this process will complete itself,
oblivious to the wait,
unconcerned with time
cycles spin and wheel
the strings happen into their endings and beginnings
simply,
earnestly,
like her Moon turning,
ashes to ashes,
