A Most Special Room in Krause Cabin

hey, don’t fall down bench

wind aint even blowin

with these everywhere shadows 

busy whispering their historically nostalgic stories 

earth trails beside fish filled cold streams

running alongside each other to compliment,

everything in twos shared,

this a better place to be 

this place we’re in

(discovering stillness

echoing into the many parts we are)

ever scribble into a soggy notebook ontop a mountain pass?

gotta seduce it,

suck it down to the marrow,

the rest 

straight forward inertia

inside... scrawling by solitary burning candle

last witness to the night,

disheveled table and rickety chair

laughing blind ol keyboard looking on

and out there all around, 

those browngreen massive tree live-ers

climb then spiral upwards,

guiding our human pace, 

sheltering our heartbeat

there are those 

who dwell in these mountains

who may consider vastness from all directions,

and those 

who dwell in these valleys 

who may lift their eyes to this Shasta,

tacitly ascending from this green space,

from this expanse,

the enduring and the towering

today we agreed

this pockmarked splintered floor 

aint so bad cause we could walk on it

if winds decide to blow crazy out there annihilating our souls,

and if the early morning chill grows just a little bit warmer 

as the omnipresent silence serenades,

better grateful hobos we will be for 

it all
