Loki temple power uses
Those who receive the power will feel its force, and understand how it may be used. The power must be used in some way within 14 days, or it will fade away. Note that it is quite likely that if Loki or any of his major minions were to see a person with this energy in them, they would recognize the power and its source. Possible uses include:
1 — conversion into 100 CIPs. This takes one round to perform.
2 — Add the maximum amount of one full level’s XP to one class, whatever that interval is. This cannot exceed class or racial limits. It could be used to get less than the maximum amount, to push a level to that maximum without going over. This takes one turn of unbroken concentration. For instance, if you are a magic-user, that amount is 375,000 experience, even if you are level 1.
3 — Power may be imbued into an area, including any structures, of up to 100 wide x100 long x 50’ high. The specifications of this will vary with the size of the area and size of structures, and will be unknown until the power is completely imbued. Pests, disease, and rot would be unknown in the area. For the maximum size area, it will add some protection to the land and structures from damage, both natural and magical, will enhance the health of those in the area, and will cause growing living things to achieve fuller size and strength (this would be fairly noticeable in plants, especially short lived ones, and less noticeable in animals and people, and almost imperceptible in long-lived creatures such as elves and dwarves). For an area as small as 10x10’, the land and structure would be almost impervious to harm. Those living creatures that enter the area would be imbued with physical durability as much as double what would normally be possible for the creatures (the more creatures in the area, the less additional durability they would have); this would only last while they were in the area. For areas in between, the effects would be something between the two extremes. The exact effects will not be possible to determine without divine levels of perception. This could be used on a sailing ship, with similar effects. These effects could be used on an already enchanted area, making the area/structures even stronger. If intended to be used on part or all of one’s temple, permission from the high officiate would be required, or the attempt would probably fail, assuming the temple has a reasonable level of magical protection. This process will take a full hour, and require unbroken concentration.
Note that if someone entered the area and did some harm to some creature or part of the property, they would lose the benefits of being in the area. Also, desirable natural effects (normal decomposition) would continue, but structures would not rot from age, for instance.
4 —This could be used to merge two magic items of a level of power less than a relic or artifact into one item, with the form of either of the existing items, at the user’s choice. This will take one hour of unbroken concentration.
5 — This could be used to increase the effective level of specific spells cast. This battery could add a total of 100 levels to spells cast over the next 14 days, with a maximum of 10 levels to any spell. This will affect only spells cast directly by the person, not effects from devices, scrolls, potions, or other abilities. The spells can be ones with a long duration, but the level addition will only last for 24 hours (unless the spell duration is shorter). This will affect range, area of effect, magic resistance, dice of damage, and so on. It takes one turn to make this conversion, after which no special additional time is required during spell casting.
