Power Gems

What is known, in general, about power gems, is listed below.

Power Gemcrafting

Gems used to craft these must be natural, not magically created. Gems commonly used in this crafting include Jade, Aquamarine, Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, Opal, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and Diamond. 

Using Power Gems

Applying a gem to an item requires it to be held against the item for one turn. If desired, a gem can displace (and destroy) any chosen existing power gem in an item. They cannot be removed short of a limited wish (which will destroy the gem) or a wish (which will safely remove it).

Gems of the same design are not cumulative in an item.

The number of gems that can be added to an item is dependent on the item’s plus, or gold piece value, whichever is less.
