The cleric spell Glyph of Warding has dozens of powerful specific glyphs that priests can learn. Some are limited to certain alignments or even specific deities.
If the name of a glyph is spoken aloud within ten feet of the edge of the area it protects, the glyph will be shut down for one turn, and will not prevent passage or be triggered by another creature passing through its protected area. Any character can be taught to recognize a glyph, and speak the name and thus temporarily deactivate it.
If a glyph is a 'ward' type glyph, they do not go away if triggered by a warded type creature entering the area. They are, however, destroyed by the passage of a more powerful creature of the warded type.
