Sister Naomi: "Rain came to my friend's orchard when I decreed in faith that God will give her rain."
"At the beginning of November this year, I went to Chiangmai from Penang to visit my old mother.
I had asked the church to pray for my mother who was sick and was not able to walk.
When I arrived in Chiangmai, she was already walking.
I therefore told my mother that it was Jesus who had healed her, after the Church in Penang had prayed for her.
"I had shared about the love of God to my mother many times in the past.
This time my mother accepted Jesus as her Saviour, and the local pastor came to the house and baptized her.
"The following day, I took my mother to the hairdresser opposite our house.
The hairdresser asked me, 'Your mother was not able to walk before this, but today I see that she is able to do so.'
I then told the hairdresser that it was Jesus who had healed my mother, and that He can do all things for us.
"My hairdresser then said, 'Is that so? Can your Jesus do something for my orchard? I have many longan trees, and it has not rained for many weeks and everything is now very dry.'
"I said to her without hesitation, 'Yes, Jesus will give you rain tonight. It will rain tonight for your orchard.'
"After finishing our business, I went home with my mum.
I then became so busy that I even forgot to pray for rain that night.
However, at 3 am after midnight, the rain came pouring down, and lasted until the next day afternoon.
"I give all glory to God for this great miracle, that the world may see God's kingdom and glory!"
COMMENT (Brother Andrew)
1. When Naomi made the decree that it will rain that night, it was enough for Jesus to perform the miracle, because she did not doubt, even though she forgot to pray that night.
In Mark 11:23, Jesus said that if we say to the mountain, "Jump into the sea," it will be done for us, if we do not doubt but believe.
Jesus will always honour a decree made in His name.
2. Likewise, Jesus said that if we were to pray for anything, we must also decree that it has come, that we have received the miracle (Mark 11:24).
Only in this way can we see the miracle manifest.
3. To receive a miracle, we must always make a decree, either without praying (Mark 11:23), or after praying (Mark 11:24).
No decree, no miracle.
4. Thus, almost all the miracles of Jesus were done through a word of decree.
Jesus did not do His miracles by praying in public, but by a word of command or decree.
5. In Acts 10, Peter prayed first to God before he made a decree.
A miracle took place after the prayer and decree.
A sister was raised from the dead.
Acts 9:40
40 Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed.
Turning towards the dead woman, he said, "Tabitha, get up."
She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up.
