Building God's Kingdom on earth by grace alone
Jesus came to bring the Kingdom of heaven to all men on earth.
All who believe in Him enters His Kingdom---by the grace of God alone.
All His followers are commanded to build His Kingdom on earth----by the grace of God alone.
All believers are to obey the commandments of Jesus---by the grace of God alone.
Living in the Kingdom of God today is all about living in total dependence on the grace of God.
1. Every follower of Jesus is to live in total dependence on Him and His grace.
Only by living in total dependence on Jesus and His strength and grace, will a child of God be able to build God's Kingdom on earth, in His own life and in others.
In this way, all glory will go to God for whatever we are able to do in God's Kingdom.
John 15:5
5 ‘I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
2. By our own strength and power, we cannot save ourselves.
We are saved by the grace of God alone.
In this way, no believer can boast of His own worthiness and merit in being saved by God.
Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God –
9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
3. By our own strength and power, we cannot obey the commandments of Jesus.
They are even more stringent than the commandments under the Law of Moses.
By our own strength, we cannot live a life of holiness.
However, we can live a life of holiness by totally depending on the grace of God.
God's grace will always be sufficient for us to help us fully obey the commandments of Jesus, and live a life of holiness that is pleasing to Abba Father.
Titus 2:11-12
11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.
12 It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.
2 Corinthians 12:9
9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
4. Jesus is full of grace and truth, and He will give grace through His Spirit to all His disciples to fully obey His commandments.
Jesus will not ask us to obey His commandments if it cannot be done.
Indeed it cannot be done if we rely on our own strength.
But now, the Spirit of Jesus---the Spirit of Grace and Supplication---is living in us to help us.
The Spirit of Jesus will release the power of God to help us do the will of Jesus and build the Kingdom of heaven everywhere we go.
We can be powerful witnesses of Jesus, when we walk in the power and love of Jesus---as we obey the leading of the Holy Spirit at all times.
John 1:17
17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Acts 1:8
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’
Zechariah 12:10
10 And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication.
Romans 14:17
17 For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
