Turn Around
Don't be afraid that your heart might break
Don't be afraid you might make a mistake
Don't think it safer to stay in one place
Along with the rest of the race
You run and run and run in vain
The gathering clouds all look like rain
And when it all comes down again
It all goes down the drain
As all the crowd confused and loud
Pursuing strong delusions, wishing well
Are following the devil all the way to hell
Turn around
It's not too late
Turn around
Escape the way
That takes you to the ground
And when you turn around
Let sorrow flow
When you feel broken in your soul
You learn the things you need to know
That godly sorrow will the Spirit sow
The seeds that need to fall
Before they grow
Into the ground
So turn around and know
That God is with you
When you turn around
Turn around
And make it right
Turn around
Escape the plight
This mighty ship
Sets sail tonight
You've got a ticket in your hand
You bought at quite a price
The independence you have planned
Will surely turn you into ice
From deep inside you feel the pull
The surging tide begins to flow
You're holding on and letting go
As godly sorrow will the Spirit sow
The seeds that need to fall
Before they grow
Into the ground
So turn around and know
That God will save you
When you turn around
[Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to
salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow
brings death. (2 Cor. 7:10)]
