Etaples, France (1917-18)
Kenneth enlisted on 25 July 1916 at Trentham, Upper Hutt, Wellington, aged 31 years. He was recorded as being 5', 7" tall with a fair complexion, grey hair and blue eyes. His last place of residence was Alfriston, Manurewa (Auckland). His next of kin initially was his mother Margaret Moore. After marrying in October the same year this was crossed out and inserted was "Mrs Ethel Moore (wife), Arthur Street, Onehunga".
On 31 July 1917 he was awarded the Military Medal for acts of gallantry in the field.
In France on 26 March 1918 he was recorded as "wounded and missing" in the field. He died of his wounds the following day in a military hospital.
