Obituary of Vergie H. Zeman Melrose, Wis. -Vergie H Zeman, 99, of Melrose died April 5, 2007, at Family Heritage Care Center in Black River Falls, Wis. Vergie was born Aug. 25, 1907, to Adolph and Daisy (Thompson) Sander in German Coulee, rural Ettrick, Wis. Vergie attended the Brookside school in German Coulee and graduated from Melrose High School in 1926. She married Stephen P Zeman on Nov. 4, 1831. They farmed in the Melrose area for 34 years until Steve's death. Vergie was a farm wife and when her family was raised, she worked for many years at the Black River Memorial Hospital as a nurses aid....Vergie is survived by a son, Winston (Kathleen Collins) Zeman of Melrose, two daughters-in-law, Coreen (Avery) Zeman of Anoka, Minn., and Josephine (Stoker) Zeman of Hartland, Wis., seven grandchildren, Steve (Karla) Zeman, Cheri (Jerry) Wild, Randy (Pam) Zeman, Mark (Jessica) Zeman, Kelly Zeman, Scott Zeman, and Ann Zeman.; 14 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband in 1965; son, Marvin, in 2001; a son, Ronald in 1999; and a grandson, Carl in 2005.; a brother, Lewis; and a sister Zona Larkin. ....
